Hey! I’m Leonardo Lazzaro.
I’m a software engineer from Argentina, currently living in Almere, Netherlands. I’ve been writing code professionally for over 15 years, mostly in Python and Django, though I’ve been exploring Go lately.
What I Do
I work as a Senior Engineer, building scalable backend systems and microservices. Before that, I worked on security products, real-time data pipelines, and even did some bioinformatics research during my university thesis.
I’m passionate about:
- Clean code and good software engineering practices
- Open source — I love learning from the community and giving back
- Building things that actually work in production
The Book
I wrote Building Web Applications with Django, published by Orange Education. It covers modern Django development — from the basics to deploying with Docker and Kubernetes. If you’re learning Django, it might help you out.
Outside of Work
When I’m not coding, you’ll probably find me on my bike (pedal or motor) or behind a camera. Cycling, motorcycling, and photography are my favorite ways to disconnect.
